Bromyard is twenty minutes from Hereford on the A465 and we’re over that way
regularly. No call-out charge for a quote in HR7.

Black-and-white houses need care

Bromyard has some of the best timber-framed property in the county, and High Street and Church
Street are full of it. Tiling in a building like that is not the same job as tiling a modern
bathroom. Nothing is plumb, nothing is flat, and the frame moves with the weather. Tiling
rigidly onto a surface that moves is how you get a crack straight down a new wall within a
year.

So we don’t fight the building. Walls get boarded out and isolated rather than tiled directly
onto old plaster, floors get a decoupling membrane where there’s movement, and we set out from
your eye line instead of from a wall that was never straight to begin with. On an older
property we’ll also tell you honestly where a large-format tile is the wrong choice and a
smaller format will sit better.

The newer parts of town

The estates off the Tenbury and Worcester roads are conventional work — bathrooms being
replaced, porcelain kitchen floors, splashbacks — and usually quicker than the quote suggests
people expect.

Farms and converted outbuildings

There’s a lot of barn conversion around Bromyard, and those floors are the ones to be careful
with: a slab poured into an old building often has no damp-proof membrane under it. We check
for moisture before laying anything, because porcelain over a damp slab lifts in patches
eventually.

Villages we cover

Bringsty, Whitbourne, Bishops Frome, Stoke Lacy, Pencombe, Munderfield and the villages along
